Configuring C1131X-8PLTE-PW AP controller

I am not able to setup wifi on a brand new C1131X-8PLTE-PW. Obviously there is no  default username/password to acces the AP controller via the webgui. Connecting via default SSID CiscoAirProvision-BCB8 works, but then I do not get answer when trying to open http://mobilityexpress.cisco

I already tried hw-module subslot 0/3 error-recovery password-reset, that doen't help.

This is very frustrating, I cannot find the right documentation how to set wifi up either. Can someone advise here?

Hi,

I found the solution: I used the option hw-module subslot 0/3 stop and then start. Then open hw-module session subslot 0/3 in global config mode. This starts the default configuration options, hence allowing me to enter the required wifi settings. Wifi is now enabled on the embedded AP.

Thank you for your support.

  - @softwaremaintenance    The password for the CiscoAirProvision SSID  is just password
Can you use or try that first , otherwise the access to  http://mobilityexpress.cisco
                                             could be blocked ,

Hi,

Thanks for replying. The option password works. When opening  http://mobilityexpress.cisco  I  am redirected to mywifi.cisco.com. That page asks again for a username and password which is "webui" and "cisco"

That brings me to a page with 2 options: DNAC cloud onboarding (Whih I do not want to do) and Classic Day 0 wizard. The last option does not respond.

Looks like this is not the way to configure a wlan on the C1113.

  - Use  the CLI instead : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/1100/software/configuration/xe-16-7/cisco_1100_series_swcfg_xe_16_7_x/cisco_1100_series_swcfg_chapter_01010.html#concept_rlf_25x_1bb

Hi

Did you follow the configuration guide ? That describe the process, not sure by default which image loaded onto that inbuilt AP (may be lightweight and expect it to register to a WLC). It needs to be in 'Mobility Express' mode to use it without any WLC.

Hi ,

Thank you for replying. I want to use the embedded wlan option, so not a external AP connected to the C1113. That should be possible, according the documentation https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/1000-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/datasheet-c78-739512.html#Cisco113xISRsThepathwaytoWiFi6

Regards,

Joost

Yes, it is possible, AP has to be in 'Mobility Express' mode in order to do that.

Little adjustment: hw-module session subslot 0/3 must be run in EXEC mode
