I am looking for a walk-through or some sort of guidance on configuring an access point in monitor mode to detect a rouge AP that I place wired to the network to detect that rogue AP and to alert me to the existence of that rogue AP.
I have the 5520 WLC running 8.2.110
Access points are 37021 and I have a 3702i in monitor mode.
I am using a Cisco/Linksys e4200 as my test rogue AP

The controller has SNMP traps to determine if the rogue AP is "on the wire".

Based upon this post I can't use the typical Linksys/Cisco SOHO type router/access point because of the NAT issue. Would it make a difference if I have installed DD_WRT on the device or should I be using a Cisco AP
