Hi Wireless Gurus,
What is the difference between HA-SKU Secondary Unit = Enabled on Backup WLC compare to Primary and Backup WLC running both in SSO = Enabled mode?
My Understanding:
"HA-SKU Secondary Unit" Feature
- HA-SKU Secondary Unit = Enabled on Backup WLC provides fall back for APs to connect to Backup WLC if Primary WLC fails.
- HA-SKU enabled WLC runs with 90-days grace period license with full functionality. Technically, AP will re-Discover and Join HA-SKU Backup WLC, so it would bring disturbance in the Client connectivity.
"SSO" Feature
in this design where Primary WLC and Backup WLC both are running SSO = enabled mode and does appear as one Controller (generally referred as Cluster). In testing this there is no CAPWAP re-join and Clients re-association as both WLCs keep the database up-to-date in real-time.
Now this is what I understood, can anyone verify this or may add what I've missed?
Regards,
S
