Exporting Maps between Prime Infrastructure versions

Hi

I am currently running Prime 2.1. I am about to deploy a new appliance with Prime 3.5. I wont be migrating all the data but will just add the WLCs to the new Prime.

Can I export the Maps from Prime 2.1 and import into Prime 3.5?

Yes you can.

Two options:

Export the maps and then import them

Backup DB of old PI and import it to new PI.

I don’t like to backup and restore the DB. I typically spin up a new VM, build it from scratch, import all your devices and then import you maps.  Best way to keep you DB from being corrupted.

Agree the DB restore is not the best option for a smooth upgrade
