Hello,
I was given one of these WAPS by a client.
The model is AIR-CAP1702I-Z-K9
I was hoping to test it out in my home.
But -> K9 encrypted.
if I connect to console I’m greeted by a password prompt that I do not know the answer to. Clients IT department can obviously not give me this information (and frankly I’m not going to push to get it)
Is there another way of factory resetting the thing? Thus erasing all running/starting config, clean slate.
Thanks in advance!
Regards
Thomas

But note:
- "But -> K9 encrypted." - K9 just means that it supports (US) export controlled encryption - not that it's 'encrypted'. https://www.router-switch.com/forum/showTopicDetails/10/327
That AP model is a lightweight AP - meaning it's a CAPWAP AP which needs a WLC (wireless LAN controller) to operate.
If you're planning to use it standalone at home you'll need to convert it to autonomous (unless that's already been done). One of the forum regulars has a blog on the subject: https://mrncciew.com/2012/10/20/lightweight-to-autonomous-conversion/
And you'll need the autonomous (k9w7) IOS image to do that conversion which is Cisco licensed software. If you know the filename a search of the internet can sometimes be helpful.
