Global controller name/ip up

How can I update/change globally all host controller name/IP's to all attached AP's?

I'm going to turn off the 5508 and turn on the 5520..  new name/IP

The AP's will find their new target via DNS, but I suspect that will either leave the HA fields empty or pointing to the old targets.

Darn, we did not cover that in Prime class.

  1. Change DHCP Option 43; and
  2. Configure the new Primary Controller details on each AP.

Ah, yes but I was trying to avoid step 2, updating 250 AP's one at a time...

Enable DHCP Option 43, clear the DHCP leases and reboot the APs.

I do this all the time.  A lot faster, in my opinion, to put all the AP names in an Excel spreadsheet and run a formula to populate the command.  It can be done in about 2 minutes.  Max.
