HELP: Setting Up the Cisco Unified Wireless IP Phone 7925G

VOICE SYSTEM: Cisco Systems Small Business Pro UC560-FXO-K9 V01
PHONES: Cisco CP-7975G IP Phone Gig Ethernet, Color and 8 Lines
SWITCH: CISCO SWITCH POE 24 Ports
FIREWALL: Juniper SRX650-BASE-SRE6-645AP
SIP PROVIDER: VOIP Innovations

 

I just purchased IP Phone 7925G wireless phone and have never had experience setting it up.

 

Before we begin exchanging links to hundreds pages of documentation, please answer simple questions out of the box:

 

What is the first step in the phone setup?

How does this phone connect to network?

Does this phone connect to Wifi router or does Cisco UC connects to the phone SSID: cisco?

This phone should be receiving DHCP IP from where?

 

Please provide simple responses before sending the links.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

What is the first step in the phone setup?

Setup WLAN network profile on your phone to suit your SSID configuration.

 

How does this phone connect to network?

It needs to connect to a WiFi network.

 

Does this phone connect to Wifi router or does Cisco UC connects to the phone SSID: cisco?

Yes. Also you need register your 7925 to Cisco Call manager. Then via DHCP option 150, 7925 will learn about UCCM IP and then go & register once you connect it to your WiFi network.

 

This phone should be receiving DHCP IP from where?

It should receive DHCP IP from  a DHCP server that you provide IP for wireless clients.
