Hi,
Facing a weird problem. Even with no client connected channel utilization on 2.4 GHZ remains high. Today there were like 5 or 6 clients connected to an AP and its utilization on 2.4 GHZ was 87percent. I have already set the data rate minimum to 12 Mbps in 802.11bgn-->Network, however seems like it didn't help.
We are running code 8.5.182 on WLC 2504.
Any help shall be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

number is connected client is not necessarily an indicator of channel utilization, channel can be busy because of other interferes including other APs on same channel specially on 2.4 where you have limited channels.
show ap auto-rf 802.11b <AP name in question>
this command should show you near by APs, which might also be contributing to channel utilization.

There is nothing "weird" about high Channel Utilization of 2.4 Ghz.
2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz is a shared spectrum. With only 3 useable channels, 2.4 Ghz will always have high CU.
It has been a "best practice" to avoid using 2.4 Ghz for the last 10 years.
