How to configure 'Incoming/Outgoing update filter list' for OSPF?

Hello All,

I try to add ospf network to my router (R1), so I added new Routing networks.

However, even though I configured correct routing networks and wildcard mask, it does not applied to other router (R2).

I am not able to find other reason.

Do you think this issue related to advertisement mode? like transparent mode. Currently I have no access right about R2 so I am waiting the answer from the engineer who can check the R2.

In the meantime, is there anything I need to check from my side (R1)?

I found that [sh ip protocol] command:

   - Outgoing update filter list for all interfaces is not set

   - Incoming update filter list for all interfaces is not set

Do you think if I configure update filter correctly, R2 can be applied my updated networks?

**Your comments could be a great advice for me. Thank you.

The Filter is to filter the networks, nothing to do wioth your problem you mentioned ?

If possible post the bit of the configuration what you configured. and check the below :

1. Do you have oispf neighbourship ?

2. are they in same area ?

3. Hope they not have duplicate IP address space ?

Thanks for replying.

Okay so incoming/outgoing filter is about giving conditions like acl, correct?

I have double checked configuration what you've asked and the there is no mis-configuration on R1 router.

  - ospf has same area / backup designated router, interface address are correctly setup / No duplicate IP ranges.

Probably I need to wait engineer's reply who can check R2 router..

Thank you..!
