How to identify tx-power value of cisco 1242 Access-Point from beacon frame wireless packet capture ?

Hi,

I am using cisco 1242 access-point. i have set maximum value of tx-power at this AP.  while sniffing wireless

packets via wireshark, i am not able to identify the tx-power from radiotap header v0 or ieee802.11 wireless lan management frame.

apart from cisco AP, how can we find the transmit power while capturing packets?

You can see this information as long as DTPC is enabled, which requires that the Aironet information elements are enabled on the SSID. DTPC enables CCX clients to learn and adopt to the power level of the access-point's radio.

In your capture you have to search for tag 150 (Aironet DTPC Power level) in the management frames. The value will be in hex and is representing the txpower of the radio in dBm.
