How to password recovery of 9800-L-F WLC without losing the config?

Also if a password is changed, but the config was not saved. So, if I reboot the WLC, then would I be able to login with old credentials?

Yes,   if  you don't save the configuration and  reboot, then the old credentials will work (or keep working)

Console into the WLC and reboot.  Post the entire boot-up process.

I want to see if password-recovery is disabled (enabled by default).  If password-recovery is disabled and someone attempts to do a password-recovery, the config will be lost.

Exactly this was my confusion. Thank you for clarifying it.
