iPhone connecting to Far off AP

Hi,

I have a building with three floors. What's happeing is that the there are four APs on one floor, 6 APs on the second and 4 APs on the last floor.

We all have iPhone issued by the company and what happens is that the iPhone which is not more than 8 feet from the AP and LoS, is connecting to the AP which is on the second floor. This is happening to most of the iPhones on the first floor. Furthermore, this causes user to face low data rates & to my surprise the data rates which are disabled on the WLC such 6Mbps are shown on the iPhones.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

We have 2 x WiSM-2 Controllers with 7.4.100.60.

Regards,

Usama

Well apple devices are known to be issues. They are also know to be sticky. As long as they are not jailbroken you can either follow this link or you can try creating a new SSID and test out 802.11r FT
