Is it possible to set up the guest wired vlan without foreign WLC

Hello All,

We have only one central 5508WLC installed at the Data Center. All APs in multiple offices are in H-REAP mode and tunneled back to the WLC via MPLS cloud.

We have the guest wireless set up already. Now there is a requirement to set up the wired guest. Is it possible to set up the guest wired vlan without local WLC requirement?

Thank you very much in advance.

Robert

I don't think so.

Wired guest vlan needs to be L2 (vlan) trunked to the WLC.

I don't think So. You can not setup guest wired lan without foreign WLC

Yes, defenetly but u need a Cisco 600OEAP. If it works without a NAT setup u need for the OEAP normally I'm not sure. But maybe that's an idea for you.

Hi Sebastian,

Can you share a doc of how to achieve the goal with a Cisco 600 Office Extender AP? Thank you.

Robert
