Is the C9115 AXI-E AP compatible with the WS-C3850-24P-S switch

I have some WS-C3850-24P-S switches in the store that i am planning to deploy to a new site with the recent C9115 AXI-E AP connected to them but i am concerned about the compatibility since the switches are quite old and almost EOD while the APs are very recent. I read the switches are mostly compatible with the Aironet series so i am wondering if it will function properly with C9115 AXI-E AP.

 - It will work  , you only need to take care if  a Cisco AP needs POE (check the budget and provisions on the switch) ,

Yes it will work.  CDP or LLDP (not both) needs to be enabled on the ports for PoE to work correctly.

Make sure the IOS is fully up to date.

Check your power budget according to the power supplies you have installed:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-3850-series-switches/data_sheet_c78-720918.html

Budget 24.1W per AP even though the datasheet (incorrectly) states 20.4W.  The AP will request 24.1W from the switch.
