Hi,
We are changing WiSM for WiSM2 and we want to keep the configuration.
Is the an easy way to convert a WiSM config file so it can be dowloaded to a WiSM2.
I was thinking about just removeing the ap-manager interface configuration lines from the config file, but is that enough?
Hope some one can help

Make sure the existing WLC and the new WLC is on the same code... If possible
You can backup the configuration from the WiSM and open it up in notepad
Make changes to your ip address and hostnames
Delete the username and password since it is hashed
Replace the management username to
config mgmtuser add
Make sure there is a trailing space at the end of the command!!!!!
Remove any line you wish
Go through the startup script for the WLC5508
Perform a restore to the WLC5508 from the config you edited

Basically, just to reinforce what Scott has said. After going through the initial setup, I use a current backup of my existing WISM and upload that to the WISM2 and make the changes I need to there. Save the config and you're done.
I've done this many times when upgrading from WISM to WISM2. Best to keep the software level the same and then upgrade the WISM2 software level to what you need, although I've done it with different software levels as well and it's worked ok.
