Okay after downgrading my AP from LWAPP to an autonomous system the console prompt hangs at the File "flash:/c12-k9w7-mx.122-15.JA.....uncompressing and 0 executing...
what could be wrong?

sorry dude but what IOS did you used?!
I mean that was like the first IOS mad in history!!!!!!!
download a 12.4 code por autonomous... not 12.2 :-s
THAT MUST BE THE ISSUE...
HEHE
The real problem is that you uploaded a 1200 series IOS to a 1131...

okay now I think I blew it, I get to recovery mode and now I'm stuck. I can't seem to get it to boot from the TFTP server. when I try to use the ether_init it says it fails.
04-26-2011 04:22 PM
did you try "boot"?
I can help you fixing it. if you have a way that I can see the console ouput and to type I can do it...

ap: boot

04-26-2011 04:39 PM

ERROR: timeout waiting for auto-negotiation to complete
ERROR: fail to bring ethernet link up
The system has been encountered an error initializing
ethernet port. You may need to check hardware
The system is ignoring the error and continuing boot.
If you interrupt the system boot process, the following
commands will reinitialize ethernet, tftp, and finish
loading the operating system software:
ether_init
tftp_init
boot
I tried to manually set the config but that didn't help
ap: set

https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2079880?decorator=print&displayFullThread=true
let me know if you cant ...
As I mentioned you I can help you if you give me access to your PC...
04-26-2011 04:56 PM
this is the error message I'm worried about.. give me a few minutes I really need to open up ports on my alcatel router..
04-26-2011 04:58 PM
well or just use teamviewer or the skype video display... anything that shows me your screen can be helpful.
You already have the TFTP and the IOS?
04-26-2011 05:12 PM
i think the main trouble is this
ap: ether_init
Initializing ethernet port 0...
Reset ethernet port 0...
Reset done!
link auto-negotiating....
auto-negotiation takes 10000 milli-seconds to complete
ERROR: timeout waiting for auto-negotiation to complete
ERROR: fail to bring ethernet link up
now I set the variables to the following:
ap: set
DEFAULT_GATEWAY=10.0.0.1
DEFAULT_ROUTER=10.0.0.1
IP_ADDR=10.0.0.1
IP_SUBNET=255.255.255.224
NETMASK=255.0.0.0
TFTP_FILE=c1130-k9w7-tar.default
TFTP_SERVER=10.0.0.2
04-26-2011 05:17 PM
check your inbox for logon information
04-26-2011 05:28 PM
just sudo minicom and it will take you direclty to the console port of the AP
04-26-2011 05:40 PM
I need to know the TFTP IP address and its path with thefile name of the IOS
do you have any chat method?
04-26-2011 05:47 PM
addr:10.0.0.2
and the tftp server is setup in the root directory. so when you call the file it is already in the root directory.
c1130-k9w7-tar.default
