Linux PCM Aironet350 Configuration Error

I have a dual boot Compaq Evo N800c laptop with Win2000 and Linux. The Aironet runs great under Win2000. I am fairly new to Linux.

In Linux, iwconfig returns "no wireless extensions". I have wireless-tools-26-1 installed. I suspect that this is a fairly simple configuration error. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What version of firmware is on the card? If you running 5.02.19, then it will not work in Linux.You might need to downgrade card firmware to 4.25.30

It is currently running 5.02.19. This is my employer's laptop and wireless card that normally runs Win2000. I really don't want to start downgrading the firmware and the windows drivers if possible. I was hoping that there was a configuration change that would correct things.
