Lost connection to all AP

Hi!

Yesterday i lost connection to all AP. It seems like the wlc can reach them, but not configure them.

I can see the AP:s in Statistics -> AP join. They get correct IP adresses but i cannot connect to any of them.

I am no familiar with WLC so what should i do? I have tried to reboot both the wlc and some AP:s. And the firewall that's handling the DHCP has also been rebooted.

Regards

Lajja

For an AP to reach a wlc it has to:

1- get an ip address

2- routing to wlc management and ap manager interfaces should be ok both ways

3- ap should learn wlc management ip address via option 43, or dns, or local layer 3 bcast

debugs you can run on your wlc are:

debug capwap events enable

debug capwap errors enable

you should see debugs saying discovery request received, response sent.

join request received response sent

if you do not see any debugs then go back to point 1 ,2 , 3

Hi,

Why did the APs lose connectoin to WLC? there is possibly something was done and caused that! (Firewall config for example). Check all the changes that were done to find what was happened and caused the issue.

What is your WLC version? what is the model of your APs?
Make sure the CAPWAP UDP ports are reachable between WLC and APs. CAPAWP ports are 5246 and 5247.
