LWAPP and CAPWAP APs with a Mobility Express as WLC

Hello gods of the networking, we have aironet 3600 and 3700 APs in autonomus mode working with LWAPP, and 3800 ME working with CAPWAP. I've been given the task to use a 3800 AP as the WLC for all the others AP.

My question is, is it possible for LWAPP and CAPWAP APs to coexist with the same controller? We don't have any WLC as equipment, so I must use the 3800 ME as controller. Do I have to make a conversion from LWAPP to CAPWAP? Any know issues?

I'm newbie to Cisco Wireless Tech so, sorry for any confusion with any of the concepts and please explain me if you are patient enough.

 - For modern AP's LWAPP and CAPWAP are the same thing , no conversion needed. The link below describes the original-differences between the two :
