LWAPP and DHCP lease failure

hi all,

I have a punch of cisco APs that cannot acquire an IP address from the DHCP server, both the AP and the DHCP are on the same VLAN (vlan 107) and there is no helper in the middle, the following output is from the DHCP server.

*Jul 27 23:35:50.980: DHCPD: Adding binding to radix tree (10.230.15.236)

 - Issue show ip dhcp bindings ; clear all bindings and try again.

 M.

did it, and didn't solve the problem. still the same issue arise.

Option 43 syntax is incorrect.

Well it's from Cisco's documentation and it's working fine.

Can you state what documentation is this?

Cisco DHCP Option 43

Console into the AP and reboot.  Post the boot-up process.  We want to see what the AP is doing.

It's this documentation, it states that not all APs support this option.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless-mobility/wireless-lan-wlan/97066-dhcp-option-43-00.html

as for the boot of the AP i will post it the next time I am at the customer site.

and to be sure I've changed it to "option 43 hex f1040ae60f01" and nothing have changed.

  - OK , what happens if you let the option 43 statement aside (for testing purposes) ?

 M.

The APs used to work fine until yesterday, after a reboot of the switches suddenly the APs stopped getting IPs.

BTW half of the APs are working fine. I've tried shutting down all the ports and bringing them back one after the other and see what would happen, I've noticed that almost 70% of the APs have got an IP address and joined the controller which is more than what it is before restarting the ports.

Tried the method once more and got less APs getting an IP address.

 - Then the issue looks more and more related to Intranet parameters ; make sure that vlan 107 is correctly defined on all the switches , such as no shudown (e.g.).

 M.

I changed the subnet and all is working now. Thanks you all for the help.
