NCS - Disk volume 'optvol' more than 65%

We are now getting the optvol error messages on our new 1.2 NCS Prime installation.  I have read most of the discussions about this issue.  One discussion mentioned shutting down NCS, adding a new virtual disk to the vm, and then turning on NCS.  We tried this and it did work.  However our vmware admins did not give us enough space.  They gave us and extra 25 Gb which was not enough.  So now the question is, Can our admins remove the 25 Gb virtual disk they added and add a 100Gb disk?  Can they just increase the 25 Gb disk to 100Gb?  Or do we need to add another disk that is 75Gb?  Has anyone done this?

They should be able to increase that. I would have then backup that just incase but this has been an issue with NCS and the DB increasing. You could open a TAC case and get their blessing in either increasing the virtual disk or adding another virtual disk.

So now the question is, Can our admins remove the 25 Gb virtual disk they added and add a 100Gb disk? Once the 25GB has been added, you won't be able to remove it then add it back

Can they just increase the 25 Gb disk to 100Gb?  No

Or do we need to add another disk that is 75Gb?  Adding an additional 75GB Virtual Disk

The only other option would be to redeploy the VM with the additional 100GB addition as a single additional drive then restore from a backup....

The only trick to adding disks to Prime 1.2 or 1.3 is you can only add the additonal space as a new drive(s).

You just can't increase the volume size by growing the existing space/volume...
