I have the Linksys E3000 High Performance Wireless N-Router and I am having trouble connecting it to my PS3. The PS3 recoginizes the router and gets as far as trying to connect and then it tells me that the internet connection has failed and that the connection has timed out, even though it only tries to connect for a couple of seconds, therefore I dont see how it would have time to time out. Help in this is much appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried a wired port? Plugging it in will check to make sure there isn't a connectivity issue somewhere else. Always a good idea before looking into the wireless.
If everything looks good via a wired port, update the PS3. There may be a wireless bug fix you need.
Once your device is up to date, give the wireless another shot and let us know what happened.
Good luck!

When you say PS3 shows "internet connection failed", can you confirm whether or not the PS3 is actually connected to your wireless, via the router, or does it connect but is just unable to see the outside world? Does it have an address, can you ping the PS3?
If the PS3 is not associating to the AP at all, what security type are you using at the E3000 for this SSID? Have you tried making this just open security and seeing if this fails or not?
I'm not sure what type of chipset is in the PS3, but I would bet it is only using a B/G radio (2.4Ghz). Can you verify your 2.4Ghz radio is up and running, ie. you are offfering a mixed mode?
