Neighboring Access Points are on the same channels

Hello;

I know there are many inputs into the DFS algorithm but I have 6 out of 11 APs operating on the same 2 * 20Mhz channels (36,40) , 4 are on (44,48) and a final on (64,60) - I have extended UNII-2 Channels enabled and have excluded 108 & 112, so I find it strange the APs are clinging to these few channels. I am running 7.6.130 with 3700s throughout.

Any thoughts on what would cause this? I have occasional disconnection issues with clients but I am not sure if the two are related.

Thanks;

John

Look at the power of the radios.  They may be operating in the same channels but as long as their power are controlled then they should be fine.

Disconnection can be caused by a lot of issues.  Co-channel interference is one of them.
