Hi all.

Has anyone tried to upgrade from 8.4.100.0 to 8.5.135.0?

I the relaese notes the following is written in the Guideline & Limitations:

If you are using Release 8.4 and want to upgrade to a later release, it is necessary that you upgrade to Release 8.5.105.0 and then move to a later release.

Note

This restriction is applicable only to Release 8.4 and not any other release.

Release 8.5.105 is deferred and not possible to download!

How am I to updrade the very much deferred code when the upgrade path isn't obtainable?

Sincere Regards

/Mats

Thanks

Yes I saw it but it is very contradictional to later in the guidelines staie that I need another deferres software in order to make the upgrade. Coiuld somone please revise this statement?

Best Regards

/M

I think best way to contact Cisco TAC and ask about 8.5.105.0  version or tell them to help regarding it.

Why do you want to go to the buggy 8.4.100.0?

The other way around...

- I'm upgrading FROM 8.4.100 :)

Ok, now I'm getting mighty confused.  You want to go from 8.4.100.0 to which version?  8.5.105.0 (good gosh!  Buggy as f*ck!) or 8.5.135.0?

You can go direct from 8.4.100.0 to 8.5.135.0 direct.

He wants to go to 8.5.135.0, but the release notes of that version specificly state:
If you are using Release 8.4 and want to upgrade to a later release, it is necessary that you upgrade to Release 8.5.105.0 and then move to a later release.
Note
This restriction is applicable only to Release 8.4 and not any other release.

That's what is confusing him.

The release notes state you can upgrade directly to Release 8.5.131.0 from 8.2.16 and later.   how do you know you can go direct to 8.5.135.0 from 8.2.16 and later since it is not specifically written?

Check Table 3 here:

You will see that you can directly upgrade from 8.4.100.0 to 8.5.131.0 (which in this special case also includes 8.5.135.0).
