I have a medium size Cisco Wireless environment and have several Computers On Wheels (COW's) that are getting upgraded. They currently have old Intel 2915 wireless cards with an external antenna on them. We have upgraded the wireless network to support N with the 3500 series access points and I am trying to find a good PCMCIA wireless card with external antenna. We are in the process of upgrading the PC's for the carts and I have to find a good "Enterprise" wireless card for them.
We have looked at the HP desktop computers with the built-in 6300 series Intel cards but because of where the computer is going to be located, I fear that signal quality will be an issue. The computer will be housed in a vented metal case at the bottom of the COW and the antenna for the card is internal to the box, which will create what I believe to be a problem.
Anyone else running into this?
