Hi all!!

I have around 110  2802I AP´s that need to be sended to remote locations.

Here is what i planned for each of them:

1. Via a dhcp server assign it an ip and join it to a 5520 WLC.

2. Let it upgrade the image software, and enable FLEX Connect.

3. Connect to the AP through CLI, change the given dhcp ip for a static ip in a different subnet(remote site subnet).

4. Send it to remote location were the port of the switch that the ap  will be connected to is configured as trunk.

5. Connect the ap and do the rest of configuration through the WLC.

I assume this is possible or there is any caveat?

Thanks for Your reply!!

I wouldnt set the static IP though, I always prefer DHCP for AP management when staging and installed in remote locations.

Make sure the remote switch port is configured as ap management vlan for native vlan.

Alternatively you can also add below point if DHCP servers are not maanged by you

Set the primary and secondary WLC name and IP's.

Allow SSH in to the AP.
