What is the firmware version of the WiSM2?

.

They're currently running 8.1.131.26

This is an engineering release.

You might want to consider upgrading the firmware to a newer version.

.

The generic 8.1.131.0 code was released back in November 2015 and there has been no update in the 8.1.X.X train.

If TAC provided the Cisco Bug ID then you can ask them to check what version was this bug fixed (other than 8.1.131.X).

If your controller is in PI 2.2.3, then upgrading to v8.2 will still work on your PI, but new features on the v8.2 is not supported on  PI 2.2.  If you deleted the controller from PI and then upgraded to v8.2, then you would not be able to add the controller due to no support on v8.2.  We have PI 2.1 in which I also have PI 3.1 for new installs, but any controller that we have upgraded from v8.0 to v8.2 is still active on PI 2.1.  Get away from v8.1 and look at v8.2.121.0 if you were to upgrade.
