I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. Are you talking about the WLC not redirecting to the webauth page if the homepage is a secure page?

Make sure HTTPS redirect is turned on.

Management>HTTP-HTTPS>HTTPS Redirection>Enabled

hello ryan

is the feature working for you? (redirect to web auth page when using a https site like https://www.google.com which is quite common)

I heard that there are some problems but haven't had the time to test it in our lab so far...
so any feedback is appreciated :)

Running code 8.0.100.0 https redirect is working great for me.

It was a feature never supported, not really a bug, but a bug ID was issued to it.

I blogged about it here..

http://www.my80211.com/home/2012/7/23/web-auth-redirect-doesnt-work-when-client-uses-a-https-url-c.html

8.0 is running in the lab and HTTPS is working.

Thank you for sharing :)

With what browser did you test that?

What was the HTTPS site that you were surfing to? Was is an internal homepage with an internal certificate (own CA) or a publicly available site like google.com?

I've confirmed it works with Firefox, IE, and Chrome using internal and external websites. I've not yet come across a browser or site that it doesn't work with. https://www.google.com works fine.

This is a known bug.

As ryanswinney99 pointed out, it is resolved in 8.0 code release.

EDIT:

I'm sorry, I missed that you went from 6.0 to 8.0 code release. What controller model are you running? That is a large jump in code.

Can you do the following commands?

>show sysinfo

>show inventory
