Re configure Aironet 1130AG

Hi to everyone. Yesterday I made the

Using the MODE Button

Follow these steps to delete the current configuration and return all  access point settings to the factory defaults by using the MODE button:

1. Open the access point cover (refer to the "How to Open the Top Cover" section on page 2).

2. Disconnect power from the access point (the power jack for external power or the Ethernet cable for in-line power).

3. Press and hold the MODE button while you reconnect power to the access point.

4. Continue pressing the MODE button until the Ethernet LED turns amber. (approximately 2 to 3 seconds). Then release the button.

5. After  the access point reboots, you must reconfigure it using the web browser  interface, the Telnet interface, or the access point console port.

And after that when made a connection trough the terminal I saw this menu:

AP7081.05b9.7576>?

  clear            Reset functions

  crypto           Encryption related commands.

  disable          Turn off privileged commands

AP7081.05b9.7576>

Try "cisco".

I tried Cisco, cisco, admin, 1234, 12345. without luck. Any other idea?

What happens if you just press key?

Same behavior, I forgot to tell you

Hmmmm ... So you did the mode button ... What IOS version did you use?

Did you try:

Username:  admin

Password: cisco or Cisco

Username:  cisco

Password:

The AP just ask me for the password to switch between global exec mode to privileged mode.

Wait a minute ...

You did the "Mode" button proceedure right?  If you did this proceedure correctly your prompt would be "ap>" instead of the MAC address of the AP.

Your AP is still running controller-based IOS.

I did it at least two times step by step. Any recommendation?

You're not doing this right.  If you got the "Mode" button proceedure correct the prompt would be "ap>".

Can you console into it, do this proceedure one more time and post the entire process?

Nope.  This IOS is still controller-based IOS.

You are suppose to power down the AP.   Hold the "Mode" button down and keep holding it down.  Make sure the AP is directly connected to your TFTP server.  Give your TFTP server the IP address of 10.0.0.5/8.  Make sure you rename your autonomous IOS file to the correct syntax.

While holding the "Mode" button down, keep holding it down and power up the AP.  Wait until it says something like "Mode button is held down" and then you let go.
