Folks,
Why is the range that one can set for the a/g/n radio for tpc under a rf profile from -10 to 30.
If we try to set the power statically the range is much limited.

Hi
You say that -10 up to 30 is too limited ?

Cisco use this 1 to 8 mask to represent power. 1 means higher power and 8 means less power.
Tx Power
Num Of Supported Power Levels ............. 7
Tx Power Level 1 .......................... 19 dBm
Tx Power Level 2 .......................... 16 dBm
Tx Power Level 3 .......................... 13 dBm
Tx Power Level 4 .......................... 10 dBm
Tx Power Level 5 .......................... 7 dBm
Tx Power Level 6 .......................... 4 dBm
Tx Power Level 7 .......................... 2 dBm
Tx Power Configuration .................... AUTOMATIC
Current Tx Power Level .................... 5
This may change depending on the AP model. This example I took from 3800 AP. You can get the very same information with the command:
show ap config 802.11a "AP"
show ap config 802.11b "AP"
