Roaming and other issues

Hi,

I have several Aironet 1100 access points and I would like to know if the following things are possible (if so, how to do them):

- Force a client to be roamed to other AP (without disconnecting the original AP). I need to choose one or two clients that are connected to AP1 and force (roam) them to associate to AP2.

- Measure a client signal strength from a AP that's not associated with that client. Example: imagine that a client is associated with AP1, and I need to measure the signal strength measured by a second AP (AP2).

Hope someone can clarify these issues for me. Thanks in advance.

To answer your second question, as far as I know you cannot measure the client signal strength from a non-associated AP.

Thanks for the reply to my post. But I know that cisco APs can detect rogue APs. I'm not sure how this works, but I saw in the Cisco-SWAN page that it can detect not-associated clients. Unfortunately I don't have this software, so I can't really check if this is true and if it can also measures client signal strength.
