Can anyone tell me if Cisco Aironet 1141 / 1142 access points support roaming without use of a wireless LAN controller? (Or perhaps where I can find info about this topic)
Thx

what type of security do you want to use? PSK or 802.1x?
do you want to roam layer 2 or 3?
look for wireless domain service (wds)

Roaming works in stand alone or WLC deployment.
When in standalone we just need to make sure that all the access points have the same SSID configured and the same security method, and that each AP is using the non overlapping channels on the 2.4 GHz.
Also that the APs have been located on site where the overlap between each AP coverage cell is not more than 15%.
Also roaming is a wireless client based decision.
