Root to Mesh backhaul speed

Hi

i currently have 2 x 1542 cisco APs running in a root to mesh setup both running gig up links with Ethernet bridging enabled. The backhaul is set to 2.4ghz so that i can get the best coverage.

i just want to find out how to check the currently backhaul speed between a root to mesh AP? if i look at the ap information picture attched, Am i correct saying the the backhaul is max 144mbps or is this only wireless client serving?

First of all I wouldn't recommend using 2.4GHz for backhaul as it is vulnerable to interference. Recommendation would be to use 5GHz non DFS channel, with a narrow channel width. You may use directional high gain antenna's f the AP supports external AP's. Remember what ever related to the RF must verified by a onsite site survey.

Mostly you will see the data rate negotiated between these 2 AP's, due to half-duplex nature of wireless combined with other overhead also means that the actual aggregate throughput is typically 50 percent or less of the data rate.
