I need to run a 5508 with 100Mb on its uplink distribution ports. According to http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/interfaces-modules/gigabit-ethernet-gbic-sfp-modules/product_data_sheet0900aecd8033f885.html - a GLC-T will "...on Cisco 1000BASE-T SFP modules support 10/100/1000 autonegotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX".
However, I've also seen references that a 5508 will only operate at 1Gb. I'm trying to find some official reference that states the 5508 doesn’t autonegotiate to 100Mb - even though the SFP supports that capability. This seems to hint at it: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11502761/wlc5508-link-switch-core-down - but it also states the GLC-T won’t autonegotiate – which it will on some switch platforms.

From my own experience I can tell you that a GLC-T in the 5508 only wants to negotiate 1Gbit/s.

You can't... GLC-T's will only do 1000mb.
