Software Bandwidth Limitation for Mobility Express

Not applicable

Dear Gentleman,

according to http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/wireless/wireless-lan-controller/product-comparison.html it is stated that there is a Bandwidth Limitation for Mobility Express to 1Gbit/s. For example, imagine one installs Aironet 3800 with MultiGigabit uplink port.

I can only understand this limitation as "Software Based" because most of the new Aironet APs with 2xGigabit uplink or Aironet 3800 used as Controller with MultiGigabit should have no physical limitations.

Can someone please comment on this?

By the way, I tried yesterday to chat with Cisco Agent, unfortunatelly it was impossible to get this simple answer because the Agent insisted on non-technical Questions like my company name and Project information. It was impossible to get through, this Chat support is useless.

Thanks,

AA

The chat support is not meant for technical questions.  For that, you would go to a PreSales engineer.

I am trying to understand your goal. If you want full use of all the APs functions, then use a dedicated controller.  You are not going to have full feature parity using mobility express.  Some resources are going to be pulled to run the controller function in software.
