Speed issues with 1600APs and 5800 WLC

Jamie Hancock

Hi,

We are experiencing major difficulties with the 1600 APs that are configured on our 5800 controller. We are seeing download speeds of 0.01Mbs and 0.5Mbs when connected with a full signal. However, if I move the same AP onto to our 5760 WLC the speed increases to between 60Mbs and 100Mbs a huge difference.

The 5800 controller has the following software 7.6.120.0.

The 5760 controller has the following software 03.03.03SE.

Please can this be looked at ASAP as it is effecting service.

Jamie.

Hi Jamie,

You may hitting bug CSCuo74061 & fix is to upgrade to 7.6.130.0 (MR3)  or 8.0.100.0. It is listed in 7.6MR3 release notes given below as well.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn76mr03.html

AP 1600 intermittent low throughput (<1-2mpbs)

Symptom:degraded performance of AP 1600 (low throughput)
Conditions:upgrade to 7.6
Workaround:Enter the command "show int d1 wrloc c000010c 0" on the affected radio. This command does not survive an AP reboot.
Or disable A-MPDU:
config {802.11a | 802.11b} 11nsupport a-mpdu tx priority all disable

Known Fixed Releases: (8)

10.2(1.185),15.2(4)JB6,7.6(113.10),7.6(113.37),7.6(122.4),7.6(130.0),8.0(100.0),8.0(72.187)

I would also do FUS upgrade 1.9.0.0 if already not done (This will involve 30-40 min downtime)

Hi Rasika,

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately upgrading to 7.6.130 hasn't worked. I could upgrade to 8.0.100.0 and try that?

If you have any further ideas please let me know.

J.
