Strange issue with Cisco 2602 AP's

Hi,

A client is having Cisco 1131 & 2602 AP's installed. His laptop only support 802.11a/b/g. When the client is connecting through Cisco 1131 & trying to download a file from a shared server within his organization, he is able to download 30MB file in less then 5 min. But when downloading the same file from same server while connecting with 2602, it is taking approx 25 min to download.

Both the AP's were connected to the same switch, same port.

Regards,

Shahab

Did you check the client connected  data rate in those two scenario ?

Are they autonomous AP or CAPWAP ?

Rasika

Hi Rasika,

They are CAPWAP. With both the models it is 54Mbps.

Ok, then post "show client detail output from your WLC while you are doing this testing (1st output when it is connected to 1131 & the 2nd output when it is connected to 1262)

This output will provide all the information required to see what's the difference of client connection

Hi,

Please find attached output files

Regards,

Based on the output, we can see client connected 54Mbps rate to 2602 (even though you experience slow file transfer rate) where as 48Mpbs to 1131 (you got much better file transfer rate).

One other thing I noticed is with 2602 EAP Type shown as TTLS where as 1131 shown as 0. Is it possible to create a test WLAN with Open Authentication & do a similar test ?

Also veryfy switchport connected to 2602 is Full duplex/1Gbps . (show interface x/x will confirm this)
