The AP is running Mobility Express. This way it won't join the WLC.
You need to console to the AP and issue the command:
ap-type capwap

Hi
Something is telling me that you have a wrong image on the AP. In order to join the wlc, AP must have a specific software image referred as capwap or lighweiligh. This image does not allow http access to it.
You probably have a Mobility Express in your hands.
The best way to figure it out is console to AP and type "show version". There must be Mobility Express on the output.

hello, thanx for this helpful response, but can you confirme that this specific model (
air -ap3802e-e-k9) is supposed to be manageable?
tx.

Not sure what do you mean by manageable.
This AP can be in Mobility Express, which gives you CLI and Web access or WLC as capwap AP.

in fact when i sais Manageable, i mean manageable by my WLC (5520) like other AP.
because the issue i have is that this AP does not apears in my WLC when i first plug it on my network...
usualy it appears with the MAC@ in my WLC, and get upadte.... then we can configure it.
but with this one, i do not see it in my WLC!
how ever, once i plug this AP, i see that the SSID "ciscoairprovision" is propagating from this AP...
What i want to know: is this AP can be view and configured thru my WLC just like other (1702...)
Tx for your answer.

Console into the AP and reboot the AP. Post the entire boot-up process. We want to see what the AP is doing.
