I have an Aironet 1231G that I'm trying to recover an image on. I'm following the cisco directions of reloading the AP image file from an active TFTP server (which is myPC). My PC has a static ip address of 10.0.0.2 with the TFTP server running. I've verfied that the TFTP server works by upgrading a switch IOS.
The issue I'm encountering is the 1231G does not see the TFTP server correctly. It sees tftp://255.255.255.255/c1200-k9w7-tar.default not tftp://10.0.0.2/c1200-k9w7-tar.default.
Can anyone shed some light on what I'm doing wrong so I can get this working?
Error file is attached
Thanks!!

Jim,
The TFTP client on the AP broadcasts a TFTP request. It does not know that you are at 10.0.0.2.
Some things to check:
Is your PC's ethernet port cabled directly into the AP's ethernet port? (Eliminates questions about intermediate devices)
What TFTP server are you using? If you're not using TFTPD32, consider switching to it as this is the recommended Cisco application and IMO has the fewest issues.
Make sure TFTP is allowed through your desktop firewall or else disable your firewall. I know you said you checked with a switch, but to make sure everything's in order you could fire up a TFTP client on another PC and try to download your c1200 file from your TFTP server as a test.
Make sure that your filename is exactly c1200-k9w7-tar.default. Windows by default likes to hide certain file extensions and your filename on disk may have something at the end but not display it in your Explorer window.
Chekc that the file you have on disk computes the correct MD5 checksum.

Thanks Justin,
The "hide extensions of known file types" was checked and the .tar extension was at the end of the c1200-k9w7-tar.default file.
Once I removed it everything went fine and it got the image file.
