We have a 6500-WiSM, 1131 LWAPPs, a WLC and a Location appliance. I just upgraded these all to the latest version 6.0 from 5.1X - both the 6.0 software and 5.2 emergency bootloader on the Wism.
We now show about 25% out of service radios across our AP deployment.
All the ethernet interfaces are up, you can connect and configure the individual AP's - you just can't turn some of the radios on.
Some will have both A/BG down and some only one or the other radio.
Ideas?

Is there any change if you reset the ap or power cycle them. Have you consoled into one of the ap's and rebooted it to see if you see any weird errors?

Looking into it some more - it appears to be an issue with channel interference. I have the power levels and channels set to global-automatic. If I change either the channel or the power level manually, the radio will come up. If I put it back to global (even if the power level and channel still stay the same as the manual setting) the radio will go off.
Error messages in the log will say "Scanning 5500 frequency" "No available channels"
