What kind of throughput should you see with 3600 aIOS bridges?

I am seeing around 40mbps with the bridges showing m21 data rates with a clean 5GHz channel.  This is testing to a server on a 2960s (gig connections) to a 3600brdige  wireless over to a non-root 3600bridge  wired to an i3010 switch (fast E 100mbps) with the laptop client wired in (fast E 100mpbs).

I'd think I could come close to the 100mbps port.  I didn't see much difference going from 20 to 40mhz wide on the channel.   Thoughts?

What I am seeing.

Wireless laptop ---> 3600 LWAP ---> 100/full i3010 --->  3600 non-root bridge ---> 3600 root bridge ---> 1000/full 2960s ---> 5508  ---> server  = 40mbps

Wireless laptop ---> 3600 LWAP ---> 100 /full 2960s ---> 5508  ---> server  = 40mbps

Wired  laptop ---> 100/full i3010 --->  3600 non-root bridge ---> 3600 root bridge ---> 1000/full 2960s ---> 5508  ---> server  =70mbps

When I use the gig  ports for the bridge and LWAP I am able to get 200mbps.

Wireless laptop ---> 3600 LWAP ---> 1000/full i3010 --->  3600 non-root bridge ---> 3600 root bridge ---> 1000/full 2960s ---> 5508  ---> server  = 200mbps

Wireless laptop ---> 3600 LWAP ---> 1000 /full 2960s ---> 5508  ---> server  = 200mbps

Wired 1000/full laptop --->  3600 non-root bridge ---> 3600 root bridge ---> 1000/full 2960s ---> 5508  ---> server  = 200mbps

So.... word on the street is that this is a known problem.  There maybe QoS way around it.  I need to test it but I figured I'd update the thread.

"I hope that you had a nice weekend. After thinking about your issue and doing research I would like to know what is the WLC software version that you are running. There is a Defect that might be affecting the APs on lower capacity ports, it is CSCuc74835 “3600 AP does not set DF big in header causing CAPWAP fragmentation”.

This defect can definitely affect the throughput the way you are experiencing on a fastethernet 100 mpbs port. This is only fixed on 7.4.100.0.

There is a workaround which is enabling data DTLS encryption. You can do this by using the command “config ap link-encryption {enable|disable} {all|AP_Name}”.

Please test this out and let me know the results."

My testing was on 7.4.100.0 and it was slow.  However enabling DTLS encryption allowed me to peg out the 100/full port.  Of course this doesn't fix my aIOS bridge slowness....
