Hi,

I have to design Wi-Fi offload for a client. I want to know what are its main components.

I have following requirements from client.

Wi-Fi Certified Pass point (Hotspot 2.0), facilitating hotspot operation for mobile data offloads
g. Network-based mobility management with Proxy Mobile IPv6 Mobility Access Gateway
(MAG) support for integration with cellular data networks.

Hi Abdul
I sadly can't really recommend any solution, because I simply don't know the MAG part.
Hotspot 2.0 is no problem with a WLC (like the 5520 or 3504) and a current software release (I tested it with 8.5.131.0, today as it happens).
Regarding MAG, I found this document: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/5500-series-wireless-controllers/113686-pmipv6-config-00.html
It seems it's also supported since many years on WLC, but I don't know about possible restrictions.

Thank you so much Patobori.
Could you please share the components detail for Hotspot2.0 and more detail.

AbdulKarim

Now in the case of eduroam, the configuration would look like this:

In other words, your Hotspot 2.0 provider needs to supply you with various data, which you then have to configure. Most important are Consortium ID and Venue Information.
