Wildcard masking

Say you have

Network

192.168.10.0/24

With IP address Range:

192.168.10.1 through 192.168.10.254

Broadcast: 192.168.10.255

And you want to block the address range 192.168.10.10 through 192.168.10.20 from the network 192.168.10.0/24

How would you find out the correct wildcard mask for the address range 192.168.10.10 through 192.168.10.20, which would only block this range from the network 192.168.10.0/24

Take a look at this online calc. You only can block certain ranges.

Looking at the space you would need to use multiple masks. You could do a /31 and start with .10, .12 .14 .16 .18 and then exclude .20 on its own. If you use the /31 with .20 you'll also exclude .21. If you open the mask by one, you'll start at .8 then .16 and still have to exclude .20 on its own.

The first would seem to be the better route but you'll still need multiple statements to cover the address you want to exclude
