Hi Team,
I have query for newly launched cisco 9100 serioes APs and 9800 WLC models.
I have check and found that 9100 are backward compatible with 3504 model WLC and have below query?
(1)If i buy one 9100 AP with DNA essentials license, should i also buy licensees for AP on 3504 wlc as quantity 1 for 9100, or 9100 essential license with AP part no is sufficient and dont require licenses on 3504 side?
(2) There is no AP licenses adder in newly wlc 9800 series controllers side, that means 9100 AP with DNA licenses is sufficient to work with 9800 series and no additional licences required on 9800 wlc side?
Regards
Mohammad

In both cases, you only need to attach DNA licenses to the smart accont configured on the WLC.
Following presentation is a good resource to understand the licensing for DNA/Wireless:

now, I can understand its must to have DNA licnese on 9100 AP to work with 9800 but no license required on 9800 WLC (Because there is no AP adder options available too)
with what happen if i buy 9100 access point with DNA which is mandatory and need to attach with 3504 wlc, do i need to add license quantity in 3504 wlc same quantiy of 9100 APs?

Yuo cna leverage on smart licensing supported by 3504 as well. AS far as you have enought AP licenses attached to your smart account, you can termiante APs on the 3504 WLC. No local license will be required on the WLC iteself.

Okies, If there is no smart account, then we required free licenses available on 3504 wlc to add new 9100 APs ?

Thats correct. But you should really migrate to smart account as it is the future licensing model.
