The AP can be just wired to one of the switches on the same subnet, is that all i need to do.

Let me ask you this question:  Do you have a Wireless LAN Controller?

Nothing on configuration part?

Configuration is done on the wireless LAN controller.

The correct term is called controller-based.  You need a wireless controller to operate the 3502.  There's nothing specific to configure.  Just make sure you plug this to the same network to the controller as an initial setup and you should be fine.

Thanks. I am new to wireless, so please help me.

Another query, what is meant when we say map ssid with vlans.

Thanks

Yes, there is a controller involved.

and does the mapping mean, each vlan is mapped to a seperate ssid. some thing of that sort.

thanks.

Go through the configuration guide because it will give you more than enough details.
