If you have Cisco AP, then you can change it to "sniffer mode" and used it with wireshark to wireless packet capture. See below

From the WLC itself, you can't capture. Easiest way to span WLC connected switchport to a PC running wireshark. In that way you will capture all traffic going between WLC <-> APs and WLC to rest of your wired network.
Sniffer AP capture the traffic that AP's upstream and downstream,right?
No, It is not capturing its own traffic.
Sniffer mode AP captures what's happening on a particular channel that you set on sniffer mode AP. Sniffer mode AP just simply listening on a particular channel.
