I have had reported that at a site some users are unable to see or connect to the broadcast BSSID, I don't have much more information than that at the moment.
However we have a 5508 WLC running V8.0.110.11 firmware.
In the device log I am seeing the following items, and not much information on what this message means
*apfMsConnTask_6: May 26 11:46:47.271: #APF-3-ASSOC_REQ_FAILED: apf_80211.c:7725 Ignoring 802.11 assoc request from mobile 80:e6:50:08:8c:cc
Has anyone else seen this and able to shed some light on this?

One of the things that comes to mind when I hear users say what you stated, is the wireless new by chance? I seen this when customers migrate to a new platform and either the old SSID use to be broadcasted and the new SSID, same name, isn't broadcasted. If you do have it broadcasted, the next thing to look at is the encryption you are using. If you happen to have WPA/TKIP and WPA2/AES enabled, then that could be the reason. A WLAN should have only one type of encryption so that end devices don't get confused. Other things to look at is if you decided to to enable features that shouldn't be enabled. That code version is the best v8.0 out there. I haven't seen issues when running that code in any of my clients.
