Wireless Mobility Networks and Local Networks

When using a Sup720/WLSM combination with APs, is it possible to mix SSIDs using mGRE tunnels (mobility groups) and local VLANs/SSIDs? Or, do all wireless networks (SSIDs) need to be configured as mobility groups on an AP enabled for mobility groups?

Yes, you can mix SSIDs with mGRE tunnels and local VLANs. However, you need to configure trunking on the ethernet switch. Please go to the following URL:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00802a86a7.html

At the end of "Link SSIDs with Mobility Tunnels - Multiple Encryption Schemes", it says:

"In the above configuration, the Fast Ethernet switch port that the access point attaches to does not need to be configured as an 802.1q trunk because only one locally bridged VLAN is present. However it may be necessary to configure the Fast Ethernet interface on the attached switch as an 802.1q trunk if more than one VLAN is configured and not tied to a mobility network."
