Hello Cisco WLAN Experts,
we are running 2702i-APs on 9800-WLC SW-Level 17.9.3 which show abnormal behaviour in putting line protcol on
Dot11Radio0- and Dot11Radio2 interfaces state down/up an a regular basis of 15 minutes:
The shown radio reset codes are 27 and 10.
Our Prime 3.10 is reporting "Radio administratively up and operationally down" for these APs.
I can see no channel changes happening.
DCA interval is 10 Minutes . FRA interval is 1 Hour.
What might be the reason for this malbehavour ?
How can I dig deeper into this ?
Please check and thank You for any good hints.
Kind regards
Win

>.....The shown radio reset codes are 27 and 10.
- Ref : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/aironet-3700-series/117869-technote-ap-00.html
10 | RADIO_FC_TX_INPROG | The driver attempts to free a packet that the radio still has in progress |
27 | RADIO_FC_NDP_STUCK | --not used-- |
- Probably not to meaningful ; if it happens exactly every 15 minutes I suspect an external cause ; examine the wireless traffic at those intervals (e.g.) or 'just examine the wireless traffic'
Advised : Have a checkup of the 9800-WLC configuration with the CLI command show tech wireless ;
feed the output into : https://cway.cisco.com/wireless-config-analyzer/

Hello Marce1000,
Thank You for Your reply. It looks like You are pointing to an outdated radio reset code table.
I'm using this one
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/tech-notes/ap-radio-reset-codes.html
10 RADIO_RC_IDB_RESET Radio interface reset.
27 RADIO_RC_IDB_SHUTDOWN Radio interface has been shutdown.
Looks like these reflect the correct Reset Codes and Radio Reset Reasons.
Kind regards
Wini

You are right, Your document was recently updated but it references an old SW-release at the beginning:
This article pertains to Cisco IOS® APs running 8.5.135.0 / 15.3(3)JF8 and earlier.
My document is elder but for newer SW-Releases:
In 8.5.140.0 / 15.3(3)JF9 and later, the Radio Reset Codes were changed; see the article Cisco Access Point Radio Reset Code Reference for the current behavior.
Kind regards
Wini
