WLC 2100 Series POE

Hi to all,

I would like to know if the 2100 can be powered by another switch such as a 2960/3560V2 PoE.

I'm in the process of adding the 2100 to my CCNA Lab, while the WLC are relativley inexpensive the Cisco PSU is not and can be double the price of the WLC.

If it cannot be powered by PoE is there an alternative 3rd party PSU/alternative PSU.

Many thanks.

No it cannot be powered by PoE. If I buy a WLC, I will buy it with the proper power supply

Also, I would look for a 2504 (can use up to 8 5.x image version) instead of 2106/2112 model that can be only run 7.0 image. Which AP model is supported is dependent on the software it can run, see below
